ASOS Box - October

ASOS has launched their Face + Body products, alongside that have curated a monthly box full of beauty and skincare products.

For £12 you get hand picked full sized and miniature products which is good value for money, as some of the products you get in the box cost more than the total you pay on a box. 

Also with no monthly subscription, the box comes on a first come first get basis, paid and bought directly on the ASOS website.

So I purchased this month’s box, which came in a plain white box with the ASOS logo reflecting on top and products wrapped in yellow paper.

HUDA BEAUTY FAUX FILTER FOUNDATION REVIEW

The much anticipated Faux Filter Foundation by Huda Beauty has finally been released with 30 shades range-for now, which promises to last all day, catering to all skin tones, from Lights, Medium, Tans, and Richs. Available in Online and In-Stores Selfridges, Harrods, Sephora, Cult Beauty, Brown Thomas. etc  

Huda Beauty Faux Filter Foundation (£32)

Huda Beauty describes this Foundation as.. “ Faux filter foundation is packed with ultra-refined pigments that blur imperfections, conceal hyper pigmentation and help your overall complexion appear smoother.  This intelligent liquid formula blends seamlessly with skin and dries to a radiant matte powder finish that looks luminous, never dry or cakey.”

The foundation has been marketed with a chart which tells you each shade/look in categories from lightest, medium to deepest.

Huda beauty also includes a shades comparison guide chart for her shades alongside different brands foundation shades, which makes it easier and useful to some extent to find your perfect shade.

I went into Harrods a few days after the launch to get colour matched -which I can’t stress much to do first if you can. I was matched with 440G Cinnamon. In comparison to other brands, I am in MAC shade NC45/NC47, NARS Tahoe/Cadiz depending on my Tan.. the shade matches me perfectly. The foundation cost £32 for 35ml. 

Huda Beauty Faux Filter Foundation; 440G Cinnamon (£32)

The foundation comes in a square solid plastic packaging with a shadowy matte effect on the bottom with a pump for ease of application of the product. 

A sample of the Complexion Perfection Primer comes in each box, which retails at £27 for full size which I think is amazing, as you can try out with the foundation to see if you like it or not. 

On application the foundation feels velvety and light to touch, with an immediate blur effect (filter). Has a light perfumery scent. It covers my hyper-pigmentation with ease, and a little goes a long way with this foundation as it’s super pigmented with just 1 pump needed for a full face. It does oxidize a little bit.. so get colour matched in store for your right shade. It definitely provides full coverage, the coverage is phenomenal which I live for. 

It applies super smooth, matte, blends beautifully, flawless without any patchiness and it lasted me about 5-7hours wear. I did set the foundation with powder which worked perfectly well with the formula. 

The only con however that I can say about the foundation is the fact I can’t testify on whether the claim that it is water proof as I haven’t been swimming yet... okkuurr. 

I absolutely love this foundation and will recommend this product. It is a HIT!! All I can say is get you some #FauxFilterFoundation

L'OREAL HYDRA GENIUS LIQUID CARE ALOE WATER

This is a fairly new product by L'Oréal Paris Skincare that I recently discovered and been loving... So purchasing another bottle of this gem surely called for a quick review.

L'Oreal Hydra Genius is a water hydrating cream which locks in moisture for 72hrs, it is also enriched with Aloe Water & Hyaluronic Acid for an instant refreshing feeling to the skin.  Packaging looks very luxurious, an aqua blue tall glass bottle with a pump so more hygienic and easier dispense of product.

The moisturizer has a light weight texture to it, not greasy or sticky which easily glides and absorbs effortlessly into the skin without clogging my pores. 

It has a fresh and lovely aloe scent. It can be used alone or after serum. Personally I prefer to use it after my serum, making my skin feel softer, youthful and more supple. 

Great underneath makeup, provides as a smooth good base. No streaks or affect makeup staying power. 

Overall, it's an excellent affordable replacement for moisturiser.

Who is excited for fall season and fall makeup looks....  I am soo ready to bathe in dark colours and play with shades, shimmer and glitter, and to simply go big, bold with my looks.
I have quite a few Beauty Favorites from the previous months that I am excited to share with you beauties..

My favourite scent that am obsessing over at the moment is this tall dark beauty.
Black Orchid is dressed in all matte black and  shade of gold. The top notes of black truffle and ylang-ylang are mixed with fresh bergamot and black currant.
The heart of the perfume is Tom Ford's fictional "Black Orchid" with tuberose and fruity accords. The composition gets more intense with oriental base of lotus wood, patchouli, vetiver, sandalwood, vanilla and incense. A lighter warm scent which i love, and very long lasting.

Is a gorgeous pink that breaks into gold highlighter that gives a luminous, well-defined finish.

It adds a beautiful glow to the skin, lasts up to ten hours when applied. The texture and pigmentation of the powder is extremely silky, fined milled almost as if it was a liquid Its a dream to apply, not at all powdery or chunky. I use a brush to apply it and when i need a more intense glow I use a damp brush. I use this as an eyeshadow, on my tear duct, a blush topper etc. This has been a staple for me, I could put it all over my face if I can. This is a permanent shade from the MAC In the Spotlight range along with the rest of the shades.

I received this a while back in my glossybox monthly subscription box, and I've been using this on my lips at night. It is a multi-balm so it can be used on your cuticles, on the lips and physically anywhere you have dry skin.
It leaves my lips super smooth soft in the morning. Consistency is thick but not drippy or uncomfortable. Its been used daily and have nearly ran out of it! especially in the winter months this is a great product. I will definitely be buying a full size, it's a must have for my makeup bag!

MAC NUTCRACKER SWEET HOLIDAY COLLECTION 2016

Being the absolutely MAC addict that I am, I was extremely excited about this holiday edition from them this year.. There were so many whispers going on in the beauty web world about the famous Whisper Of Gilt (to die for) highlighter making an appearance in the collection, and you know I wasn't for sure going to miss out on this outstanding highlighter. I practically counted down the days for the release, and I wasn't in the least disappointed.
The collection includes a wide variety of makeup singles such as lipsticks, beauty powders, eyeliners and lip pencils, as well as mini kits and tools that is limited editions.
The colour theme, to packaging- an eye-catching bright pink/gold/purple casing is just so whimsical and fun, to the products- there are a lot of products in this holiday collection, to pricing, etc I was very happy to get hands on a few of the products at a preview event for this collection and also online. 

I must say MAC Cosmetics has improved on their stock levels this time around, which is refreshing and a relief for me personally. Because, we all know when it comes to their limited edition products, we all go into panic mood trying to get our hands on them without it being sold out in minutes of release.

BIG HAIR DON'T CARE- L'OREAL ELVIVE FIBROLOGY AIR

I was recently sent some new hair care products by  L'Oreal to try out. The new L'Oreal Elvive Fibrology Air Volumising Range.
I recieved the Volumising Thickening Shampoo, Volumising Thickening Conditioner and Root Lifting Dry Shampoo.
Being someone with naturally thin/flat hair, I was super excited to try these products.

Elvive Fibrology Air Dry Shampoo
Fibrology Air Root Lifting Dry Shampoo is designed to help lift at the roots and refresh your hair instantly and to help absorb greasiness to leave hair feeling fresher.
And after using this I will say it is not as effective at cleaning my hair, however, it boosts my fine hair, gave it texture and volume. It does not leave any white residue and smells fresh and clean, Hair is easier to style, with a lingering fresh hair feeling.

Elvive Fibrology Air  Shampoo
Fine hair not only lacks body but as it becomes greasy, it can feel heavy causing hair to stick at the roots. The clear formula cleanses and leaves hair feeling lifted at the roots.
It is a gel consistency and comes out in a perfect blob when you pour so there is no waste. It lathers up well, cleans my hair thoroughly, smells beautiful. I was impressed by how thick my hair felt after rinsing it out this shampoo. I did also notice my hair had a bit more volume than normal after use. Good value and it definitely gives thin/flat and lifeless hair a bit more vitality

Elvive Fibrology Air  Conditioner

At first glance I noticed both the shampoo and conditioner were clear and transparent, usually the conditioner is creamy, so a first for L'Oreal. The conditioner like i said also has a transparent, gel-like texture, so be careful not to mix them up when using. It has a lovely clean scent and gives hair a light condition without any heavy residue feeling, so hair has more fullness and bounce. A little bit of this product goes a long way and covers all my hair nicely. Hair is left feeling refreshed, soft and shiny for days after use and even gives a nice uplifting feeling. 

 

Overall, I will recommend this range, it offers that clean, fresh hair feeling for days without any weigh down to hair, brings  hair to a full, voluminous life and smells divine. A really great product range for fine hair.
